Scottish Property Industry Celebrates Excellence at 12th Annual Awards

Glasgow was host last night to the largest awards celebration in the Scottish property industry, as the 12th Annual Scottish Property Awards winners were revealed. The event at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel welcomed 600 guests for a night of recognition and celebration of the sector’s finest achievements.

Now in its 12th year, the Scottish Property Awards is an independent competition that honours excellence in the real estate sector. This year, a panel of 13 esteemed industry experts meticulously reviewed over 40 projects to determine the winners.

Alan Robertson, Chair of the Judging Panel, commented:

“It’s always interesting to see how changes in the market affect the range and number of entries in these awards. In judging this year, we reviewed a varied and interesting portfolio. We were delighted to see that the number of entries this year is the highest in more than five years. Congratulations also to all the professional services finalists which, in both quality and quantity, have again demonstrated the strength and depth of the property and construction professions based here in Scotland.”

The most prestigious award of the evening, Property Company of the Year, sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland, was presented to Drum Property Group. The judges commended them for the sheer scale of their current projects, their bravery in undertaking significant urban regeneration, and their impactful contribution to Scotland’s property landscape.

The highly anticipated Deal of the Year award, sponsored by PMP, was claimed by the Belgrave Logistics Park Letting—a collaboration between Knight Property Group, Wincanton, Ryden, JLL, Savills, Brodies, and DWF. The judges praised the project as a bold and speculative venture, well-conceived with a strong green design. They also highlighted the significance of the letting in the current constrained industrial market, acknowledging the impressive journey behind its execution.

A brand-new category introduced this year, Technical Advisory Team of the Year, recognises excellence in advisory roles related to acquisitions, sales, technical due diligence, cost consultancy, building surveying, and mechanical and electrical engineering. The inaugural award was presented to PMP, with judges praising their strong market presence, engagement, and outstanding client feedback.

The prestigious Business Leadership Award, sponsored by Together Money, was awarded to Dr Ali Afshar and Mr Mike Afshar, founders of AMA. Known for their dedication, family values, and humility, the brothers have spent over 40 years at the forefront of property development in Scotland. Born in Tehran and educated at Rannoch School in Perthshire, their contributions to the industry have been profound, making them deserving of this ultimate individual accolade.

The 12th Annual Scottish Property Awards once again showcased Scotland's property sector's strength, resilience, and innovation. The winners exemplify excellence in an evolving industry, from ambitious urban regeneration projects to pioneering advisory services. Congratulations to all finalists and winners for their outstanding contributions to the built environment in Scotland.
