The eagerly anticipated 2024 Scottish Gin Awards has officially launched, revealing this year’s categories and is open for entries. As the largest event of its kind in the industry, the Scottish Gin Awards celebrates the exceptional individuals and teams behind Scotland’s renowned gins.
Now in its 8th year, the Scottish Gin Awards has solidified its reputation as a top-tier event that focuses on taste and business excellence. The full programme of dates and 16 categories has now been revealed for the awards, which culminate in an awards celebration event in November, the largest trade event for the gin industry in Scotland.
Independent sensory experts are gearing up to meticulously taste and evaluate over 1500 samples from approximately 250 gins. These samples will be evaluated under strict conditions on a single day. An awards team will then meticulously audit the data and process the results to unveil the top three highest-scoring gins in each category.
About 30 gin industry professionals will participate in the tasting process, selecting winners across 11 distinct style categories. These categories include London Dry, Distilled, and Flavoured Gins. The results are kept a closely guarded secret until the event in November.

Entrants have until Tuesday 16th July 2024 to prepare and submit their entries.
The Scottish Gin Awards ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday 30th October 2024, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
