The 8th Annual Scottish Gin Awards have officially announced their finalists, marking another milestone in Scotland's premier gin competition. 54 producers and 126 Scottish gins have made it to the final stage, showcasing the incredible diversity and quality of the nation's gin industry.
The Scottish Gin Awards are celebrated for their comprehensive approach, which evaluates both taste and business performance. The taste competition involves a live blind tasting event, where expert judges assess the gins based on appearance, aroma, and taste under strict conditions. This year, the judging panel included 25 experts, including distillers and qualified sensory experts. These judges meticulously evaluated over 1,200 gin samples, ensuring a thorough and fair assessment process.
The 8th Annual Scottish Gin Awards winners will be revealed at a special celebration and dinner held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow. This event will follow the Scottish Distillers Conference, bringing together the gin community to celebrate excellence in Scottish gin production.
In addition to recognising the best gins, the Scottish Gin Awards also support The BEN, the Benevolent Society of the Licensed Trade of Scotland, through fundraising activities on the night. The awards highlight the finest gins in Scotland and contribute to a noble cause, reflecting the spirit and community of the Scottish gin industry.
