Winners Announced in 8th Annual Scottish Gin Awards
The national awards competition for Scottish gin has revealed its 2024 winners in a wide ranging competition which assessed over 200 gins from 54 producers.
Winners were revealed at an industry celebration dinner following a meticulous judging process that included a live blind tasting event involving over 40 of the nation's leading gin experts.
The prestigious title of Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year was awarded for the third consecutive year to North Uist Distillery from the Outer Hebrides. This remarkable achievement highlights North Uist Distillery’s dedication to quality, craftsmanship, and innovation.
The distillery also collected the award for Excellence in Branding, was named Gin Tourist Destination of the Year, and achieved the Gold Medal for the most sought after award of the night - London Dry Gin of the Year for their Downpour Scottish Dry Gin.
Their skill in developing flavour was further demonstrated with a Silver Medal for Old Tom Gin of the Year with their Downpour Pink Grapefruit Gin.
This year’s taste competition awarded 11 Gold Medals - the top scoring gins in each category. Particular success was achieved by The Biggar Gin Company which won two Gold Medals and a Bronze Medal.
Other celebrated distilleries included Beinn an Tuirc Distillers, South Loch Gin, and Pixel Spirits, which all collected multiple awards at the event.
