The national awards programme for Scotland’s gin industry has revealed its 2025 winners, celebrating the very best in distilling, innovation, and flavour. The 9th Annual Scottish Gin Awards brought together producers from across Scotland and beyond, with a rigorous judging process assessing entries through detailed written submissions and a blind tasting panel involving experts from the drinks, hospitality, and retail sectors.

Gins were entered across multiple taste and business categories, with medals awarded to reflect excellence in distillation, balance, creativity, and overall quality.

The most prestigious award of the evening — Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year, sponsored by Rankin Brothers & Sons — was presented to Edinburgh Gin Distillery. The distillery impressed judges across both taste and business categories, demonstrating excellence in brand experience, production quality, and continued commitment to innovation.

Edinburgh Gin Distillery enjoyed a standout year at the competition, also winning:

Gin of the Year – Edinburgh Gin The Classic
London Dry Gin of the Year – Edinburgh Gin The Classic
Old Tom Gin of the Year – Edinburgh Gin Old Tom
Gin Liqueur of the Year – Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur
Gold Award – High Strength Gin of the Year – Edinburgh Gin Cannonball
Gin Tourist Destination of the Year – City

These results showcase the distillery’s depth of skill across multiple styles — from traditional London Dry to Old Tom and contemporary liqueurs.

The title of Best New Product of the Year, sponsored by MacFarlane Labels, was awarded to Cromlix for Cromlix Gin, recognising a remarkable debut from a new entrant in the sector.

Taste categories were strongly contested, with medals awarded across all styles, including Citrus, Herb & Spice, Flavoured, High Strength, Pink, Festive, Old Tom, and Distilled Gin.

Several distilleries achieved multiple medals, demonstrating excellence across different gin styles. Each medal reflects not just outstanding distillation, but innovation and a growing confidence in flavour development.

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and finalists.
Your achievements continue to elevate Scotland’s reputation on the world stage.
